Grant applications now being accepted for breast health and/or breast cancer education, treatment, support or screening projects.
Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds of the Komen Madison Race for the CureĀ® remain in the Dane County area to fund vital breast cancer screening, education and awareness initiatives. The remaining twenty-five percent helps fund the Komen Foundation's National Research Program.
Through programs like the Komen Madison Race for the CureĀ® and other fundraising and awareness events, The Madison Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation raises funds to help fight breast cancer right here in Dane County. Since 1998, Komen Madison has supported a variety of programs and initiatives. By working with health care providers and community leaders, we fill unmet breast health and breast cancer needs.
In addition to supporting programs in our community, Komen Madison also contributes funds to support research grants at the national level. Often, the Komen Foundation is the only source of funding for cutting-edge breast cancer research; and some of this research has lead to landmark discoveries in the quest to find a cure for and eventually prevent breast cancer.
These outreach and research initiatives are making a real difference in the lives of people facing this devastating disease. We thank you for your support.
